Miss Fiona Beal, a teacher from South Africa, contacted us through our class blog (Creative Readers, Writers and Thinkers) and offered us writing some collaborative stories with them. The children in Cape Town wrote all the first parts of the story and we wrote all the second parts.  The next step was a three-way collaborative exercise involving Mr Millward’s class in Ontario, Canada. South African children started the story, the Canadian students wrote the plot and we finished it. The drawings were made by South African students. To be able to carry this project out we used Etherpad, which is an online collaboration tool that allows students to work together on a document in real time.  These projects have been very exciting for us.

Hope you enjoy reading the stories just as much as we enjoyed writing them!
