MIXING COLOURS
Olivos Whales discover new concepts about colours.

Hello! Here we are with some news from the Whales in the afternoon in Olivos Kindergarten. This time we wanted to share with you what we have been learning about COLOURS. Although we all know all the colours, this time we learnt that there are three which are the most important of all and are called PRIMARY COLOURS. This is because they are used to obtain the rest of the colours and because we cannot obtain any of them by mixing other colours. First, we made beautiful drawings with RED, BLUE and YELLOW, and then we started mixing them to see what colours we obtained. Before doing so, we made our predictions and then we mixed them in some transparent plastic bags. We obtained SECONDARY colours (ORANGE, VIOLET and GREEN). We also painted using secondary colours. Finally we learnt that black and white are not colours, but absence or presence of colours, so we added some white to primary colours and we got light colours; then, we added black to them and we obtained dark colours. We also used them to paint. We had great fun, and we really learnt a lot experimenting with colours. We hope you like our productions and enjoy the pictures!

A big hug,

Miss Mora and the Whales
