The Puppies are learning how to be good listeners. The teacher made a list on the board with different things a good listener needs to know. While making the list, the children would point to the part of the body that the teacher was referring to: eyes and ears ready, mouth closed, and her instruction was to listen carefully to the sounds they were about to hear.
The Puppies had to wear headbands with big ears made on card to go on a “sound hunt”; they really enjoyed wearing them and were very focused on the sounds they could hear. They were as quiet as little mice, and they looked like them too!
When back to the classroom they talked about the different sounds they heard with the teacher and tried to reproduce them. Then they tried to make other sounds they knew….What an enriching experience!
