This charming story, one of Roald Dahl's best, was stage adapted and directed by Mr. Oscar Llobenes and performed by the Y4, 5 and 6 children.
Five lucky children who find a Golden Ticket wrapped in one of Willy Wonka's wonderful chocolate bars win a visit to his mysterious chocolate factory. Charlie Bucket is too poor to buy more than one bar a year, so when he wins a ticket, his whole family celebrates.
The four other lucky children are not as nice as Charlie, and they're punished for their bad behavior. Greedy Augustus Gloop, Chewing-gum addict Violet Beauregarde, Spoiled Veruca Salt and compulsive TV watcher Mike Teavee lose their chance to win the grand prize. But there's a wonderful surprise waiting for Charlie at the end of the tour and he and his family get more than they expected.
The audience cheered every appearance as the children toured the Chocolate Factory, entertaining everyone with pop classics such as "I Want It All", "I Feel Good", "99 Red Balloons", "Sweet Child of Mine", "You Can't Do That" and "Video Killed the Radio Star".
The Junior Choir sang "Seize the Day" and the whole cast joined in for the finale, singing "Believe" and reminding us that our dreams can come true.
The concert was a most successful production. Congratulations to all involved and special thanks to all those who helped!
