For this purpose, we had “The Red day”, “The yellow day” and the “The Blue day”, and the children had to come dressed in yellow, red or blue, depending on the day.
We played different games and carried out different activities, such as: the witch who played with all the colours (the children had to run and touch something of the colour the witch mentioned), naming things of a certain colour and drawing them on the white board, finding something in the classroom of a specific colour, colour only the objects that are yellow, making a collage with yellow things, having a special yellow snack, finger painting with glue, sand and blue paint on card, painting with red paint on card, having a special red snack.
When we finally learnt the primary colours, we started with secondary colours. Our children came to school dressed in violet, green or orange. We carried out experiments by mixing colours, we read the story "Little Blue and Little Yellow", and they put together red, blue and yellow cellophane paper to create secondary colours.
We finally celebrated "RAINBOW DAY"! Children had to come dressed in any colour of the rainbow. We taught the rainbow song, we played the "wicked coloured witch" and mix and match with different colours.
The children had SO much fun, playing and learning!
