They have been learning all about their body, how it works and how to take care of it.
First of all we talked about the different parts of our body, inside and out, what it is for and how it works. We learnt that joints are where two bones connect and that they allow them to move, like hips, knees, elbows and wrists. We had fun singing “The skeleton Dance” which talks about how the bones are connected in our body. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e54m6XOpRgU)
We then decided to use one part of our body to paint: our elbows! It was interesting to see that with our elbows we could make thick lines and circles and we could not control the movement as much as we could with our hands. We made lovely productions!
We also learnt about our senses and how they help us to learn about the world around us. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7pi9kv1dj0)
On Friday we were given scraps of bubble wrap. Can you guess which senses we used? First we explored its texture with our fingers and skin, and the sound it made when we moved it around. We had great fun when we discovered how to pop the bubbles! In the end we finger-painted on top of it, enjoying the ticklish texture with our fingers and palms.
We hope you enjoy the pictures in our Photo Gallery!
